Don’t Panic! The World is Coming to an End Soon.

Sound like a contradiction? Or a click bait? It is not.

In a whirlwind of racism, hatred, destruction of family and individual morals or values, wars and rumors of wars, crime accelerating at an alarming pace, conspiracy theories (which may or may not be true), and lies from those we should be able to trust such as our government and the media it is really not very shocking as to why many people in our world are confused and feel, at best, hopeless.

Despite the seemingly inevitable demise of our society and our world as we know it there is good news!

The negativity that we face every day at our jobs, schools or universities, within our families, and in our interactions with the outside world, can be conquered. WE can be victorious. In the middle of these troubles there is undeniable, indisputable, unsurpassed HOPE.

How? Because the Lord our God is coming soon to relieve us from this terrible world!

These trials that we are soon about to face will be the worst trials ever experienced in the planets history of existence.

Matthew 24:21 For there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now–and never to be equaled again. ESV

Luke 21:11 There will be great earthquakes, famines, and plagues everywhere; and there will be terrors and great signs in heaven.

We know that many of these things are already coming to pass. I have been a victim of the vicious circle of researching conspiracy theories and closely following the news, watching, waiting, for any little clue that will indicate when all of these signs that Jesus has written about will finally come to pass. Recently this obsession with trying to fit together the pieces to this apocalyptic puzzle had put me in a place of dread and hopelessness with over a dozen mystery puzzle pieces balancing on my heavy shoulders. After breaking away from the internet and other damaging sites such as YouTube I began praying and asking God, “What do I need to do to feel peace?”, “How should I be preparing for what’s ahead?”, “How can I use what I know to be constructive?” After weeks of being paralyzed by the redundant nature of my internet searches in pursuit for the truth it finally came to me. I will start a blog.  I felt that writing this blog was important because through my experiences with seeking the truth I could not find anything about the things that I really wanted to know. I wound up so deeply entrenched into conspiracy after conspiracy that eventually I forgot what I had even been on the search for in the first place, and that was the truth. The truth is that we are living in very precarious times and we all need to be prepared and wide awake but MORE IMPORTANTLY than that we need to be able to know how to have peace through our search for the truth. In part I and II of this blog I want to discuss what we need to do in the times ahead, the things we need to watch for or be aware of, and how to handle this information in a positive and constructive manner once we have found it.

I believe this topic is of extreme importance for Christians as well as those who are on the fence about whether there is a God or any hope at all in Jesus Christ.

How do we have peace of mind in an unstable world?

PRAY and WATCH

There are several ways we can have peace through any situation. Faith and trust in Jesus are two of the major ones. But in the gospel of Luke, Jesus had very specific instruction for what we needed to be doing right now. I am speaking through personal experience when I say I believe one of the MOST IMPORTANT things we can do as we near the complete execution of the trials of our world is that we need to PRAY and WATCH, daily or quite realistically moment by moment when things seem to begin to fall apart all around us.

Matthew 10:16-17 “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of 38e8c56021f3b90a57e428d5b92da3f3wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; …”

Luke 21:36 WATCH ye therefore, and PRAY ALWAYS, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

I will start with prayer since the concept of watching, or being aware of the world around us, will take me much longer to address (As I had said earlier “Watching” had became a weakness for me and I want to really delve into what I have found on this topic in the second part of this blog.).

Prayer is one of the most important and possibly one of the easiest things we can do as Christians to call the Lord’s protection over our families, our friends, our neighbors, our governments, our merchants, ourselves, and everyone and everything in the world. Prayer can be done from anywhere. You can pray in your car, you can pray while your at work, you can talk to God while your in the shower, you can plea to God while your walking down the street to your favorite coffee shop. Quite literally you can pray anywhere, anytime, and any place, in any frame of mind (Angry, sad, joyful, doubtful, hopeless, etc) about anything or anyone.

Okay so prayers important. What should I pray about?

Pray for everything and everyone…daily!

When we hurt God is there for us.
  1. Pray for fellow Christians. Ask God to give all of his followers peace, supernatural wisdom, and guidance. Plea with the Lord to give us all endurance and strength to withstand the trials that we are about to face. Pray that we will all have the right words to say, the right ways to be helpful to others, the right actions to take in any and every situation. Pray that we will have the right Spirit and that God will pour his Spirit out on the one’s who do not have it and who are in desperate need of it.
  2. Pray for those who have not yet found God. This next concept may sound very strange to you and I, but we need to pray that trials will come upon those of us that are not taking God seriously. Why? Because trials bring us together, trials make us stronger, trials build character, they open our eyes to the truth. Even some of us Christians need to pray for trials upon ourselves if we have gotten to comfortable in this world. “Well wait a minute…so I am suppose to pray for God to give me and others hard times?”  Yes. I do not mean to say that we should pray for bad things to happen to others grudgingly or with a heart filled with contempt and hate. It is important to note that when you pray for cursing and revenge upon others in the wrong Spirit not only will God rebuke your prayer and send that person blessings but God will turn around and give you the very thing you had prayed negatively towards your brothers and sisters. What I am saying is in love and in the name of a great revival of the people… ask for hard times to awaken us and others so that we can remove the clouds and dust from our eyes and minds.

Let me ask you a question. We can see that the world is divided and everyone is fighting with one another over everything from our personal differences to whether NASA really landed on the moon. If a major earthquake came tomorrow and destroyed a third of the disaster victimscountry would we still be worried about racism or bigotry? Would we still be worried about who is rich and who is poor? Would it matter who has lied and who has not? Would our past short comings matter anymore or would we unite as one, as a loving caring people, and come together to offer support and words of encouragement? I believe most of us would unite as one. A people that is not divided one with the other will be victorious in all things!

James 1:2-4 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

3.  Pray for your public leaders, people of influence, and people of power. Pray for our military, our law enforcement, the ones who may turn against us

We all have made big mistakes. Some of us have made mistakes repeatedly. When we make mistakes we need prayer more than ever. Pray for your leaders.

unknowingly or willfully. Although we can know with certainty that prayer simply cannot and will not reverse what is about to happen to our world we can pray that there will be someone or somethings that can and will be reversed by our earnest prayers. Think about the Holocaust and how there were various soldiers and other brave souls who went against Hitler who helped many of the Jews to persevere or be saved. Think about the underground railroads in America that saved many slaves. We should pray that brave souls will have the courage to stand up against our oppressors, who will help us and who will help others no matter what the cost.

4. Say the Lord’s Prayer…daily. The Lord’s Prayer is a very common prayer that many times is over-looked or is assumed to be not as important as our personal prayers. Not all people think this but some do. This cannot be further from the truth. The Lord’s Prayer is a “corporate” (I don’t like having to use the word corporate but it really is the best word for these purposes) prayer that covers many important key points and the most wonderful thing about this prayer is it starts with the words “OUR Father”. Not my, not your, OUR. When we say this prayer, especially if it is recited out loud, not only are we declaring God’s power and his promise for a new and perfect world but we are praying for everyone in the world. There is not a singular pronoun in this prayer when referring to our fellow brothers and sisters there is only OUR, US, WE, and THOSE. If prayer is a foreign concept for you and you are not sure how to begin this is truly a great start. If you are not familiar with this prayer it can be found in Matthew 6:9-13.

Matthew 6:7-13 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathens do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.children praying

After this manner therefore pray ye: OUR Father which is in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Give US this day our daily bread. And forgive US OUR sins, as WE forgive THOSE that sin against US.

And lead US not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever. Amen- (Let it be done)

In conclusion to some of these important points I felt I needed to share, I want to say again what I have said earlier. We can pray anytime, anywhere, for anyone. man prayingOur prayers do not have to be long and drawn out. We do not have to repeat ourselves over and over within the same prayer, God knows what we are about to say before we even begin. I am not saying that we cannot or should not pray for the same things each day. As a beginner, pray in a way that is comfortable for you. As a veteran, pray in the way that is comfortable for you. The most important thing that I would like to stress is that although we may soon come to a time when prayer is all we have left, and it will be important to stay in prayer for long periods of time, prayers can also be simple and quick. Quick or short prayers can be just as heartfelt, sincere, and POWERFUL as other prayers. Never ever underestimate the power of prayer.

I also want to add a “disclaimer” about prayers. Just because you have not received an answer right away does not mean your prayer was not heard in heaven. Just because the things you prayed for have not happened yet does not mean they have gone unanswered. Sometimes the answers to our prayers are to be patient and sometimes the things we pray for are not good for us and God has simply said, “No, I know what is best for you even though you cannot see it right now.”

I didn’t expect to go this long on the prayer section and there may be some edits in the future but I really want to get these posted tonight because after scouring the web I feel this is OH so important. I am working on the “WATCHING” portion of this blog now and will hopefully be back to post that link below.

In the meantime you are all in my prayers no matter where or who you are.

God Bless

L.A.C.
